Computing and the Practice of History (Speaker: Peter Bol, Harvard)

"Computing and the Practice of History"  is an effort to elucidate some of the opportunities, advantages, and pitfalls that accompany the "digital turn" in historical research  Our guest is Peter Bol, the Charles H. Carswell Professor of East Asian Languages and Civilizations and the Director of the Center for Geographic Analysis at Harvard.  He will give a public lecture on April 12, 4:30pm, in 370 Dwinelle, and he will lead a workshop on April 13, 1-4pm.  The lecture is free and open to the public.  To reserve a seat for the workshop, please contact Scott Paul McGinnis at spmcginnis@berkeley.edu.
