Departmental Lecture: Matthew Gabriele (Virginia Tech) "Escaping the 'Terrors of the Year 1000:' How to Think about the Future in the 10th & 11th Centuries"

Matthew Gabriele (PhD in History from the University of California, Berkeley, 2005) is an associate professor and Coordinator of Medieval & Early Modern Studies in the Department of Religion and Culture. He is also an associate faculty principal of Hickory House in the Residential College at West Ambler Johnston. He teaches on the European Middle Ages, Renaissance, Reformation, the Age of Discovery, and modern perceptions of the "medieval."
