Human Rights and the North Korea Democracy Movement Featuring Park Sang-Hak, President of Fighters for Free North Korea

 

Park Sang-Hak was born in 1968 in North Korea's Yanggang province and graduated from the prestigious Kim Chaek University of Technology. He defected to South Korea in 1999. For over a decade, Mr. Park has been a leader in the movement to send "leaflet balloons" into North Korea to advocate for democratization. Mr. Park received the Vaclav Havel Human Rights Prize in Oslo, Norway in 2013. He currently serves as president of the Fighters for a Free North Korea (http://ffnk.net), an NGO based in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
