Visiting Lecturer: Professor Hartmut Lehmann, “The Luther Decade and Reformation Quincenentary: A First Assessment”

Hartmut Lehmann is the founding director of the German Historical Institute in Washington, DC, past Director at the Max Planck Institute for History in Göttingen, and a former research fellow at the University of Chicago, Princeton University, and the Australian National University in Canberra. He is a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Across Germany and the United States many events are being held to mark the 500th anniversary of the roots of the Reformation. Hartmut Lehmann is one of the best known German historians of this tumultuous age.

Two local Luther Scholars, Chris Ocker of San Francisco Theological Seminary/GTU and Kirsi Stjerna of Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary/GTU will be commentators.
