Recent Conference Presentations

Capuchino High School teacher Kate Ferro and Donna Leary recently presented "Keep It or Junk It: Examining Evidence for Relevance" at the California Council for History Education and California World History Association annual conferences. The "Keep It or Junk It" process helps teach students how to select and analyze evidence. See below for the classroom strategies presented at these conferences.

On February 27, 2010, the UCBHSSP held the first World History Scholar Series Seminar focusing on Religion and Boundaries: Conflicts in World History.

UC Berkeley Professor Carlos Noreña presented his talk, Religion and Power in the Roman World, followed by classroom applications presented by Fran Sheppard (Albany Middle School) and Alison Waterman (Orinda Intermediate School).

On April 24, 2010, the UCBHSSP held the second World History Scholar Series focusing on Religion in the Modern Middle Eastern World.
