Partnerships & Collaborations

The UC Berkeley History-Social Science Project is part of the California History-Social Science Project, a state-wide professional development organization. It is under the auspices of the California Subject Matter Projects, which, through its sites across California, seek to offer professional development to K-16 teachers in each subject matter.

The UCBH-SSP is also partnered with schools and districts throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding districts and counties. Please visit their websites below where teachers can find many more teaching resources and lessons.

The UCBH-SSP is partnered with:

Mt. Diablo Unified School District (TAHG): The MDUSD TAHG website is a comprehensive resource about the grant and includes teacher developed lessons and professor content lectures. The UCBH-SSP has worked with MDUSD since 2000.

Oakland Unified School District (TAHG): The OUSD TAHG website represents multiple installations of the TAH Grants the OUSD has been awarded. The site includes lessons and research. The UCBH-SSP has partnered with OUSD since 1992.

Oakland High School, OUSD: Partnered since 2005, the UCBH-SSP staff provide one-on-one coaching to teachers and other professional development opportunties.

Glenview Elementary School, OUSD: UCBH-SSP's work with Glenview Elementary teachers focuses on early literacy programs and creating a professional learning community. The UCBH-SSP has provided Glenview teachers with professional development training since 2003.

Oxnard Union High School District: Now in its second year, the partnership with OUHSD focuses on OUHSD's English learner community.

Bay Area Coordinating Council for Region 4 (BACC): The Bay Area Subject Matter Projects located on the UC Berkeley campus (Region 4) have partnered to provide professional development across disciplines to a Bay Area school. Currently, the BACC serves the James Lick Middle School, San Francisco.

California College Prepatory Academy (CAL Prep): CAL Prep is a public charter schoool co-designed and in partnership with Aspire Public Schools, Oakland and the University of California, Berkeley. The UCBH-SSP has worked with CAL Prep for three years.

Potomac Association: The UCBH-SSP has worked with the Presidential Yacht Potomac located in Oakland, CA to develop its historical content lessons surrounding the United States' involvement in World War II.
