The department has one commencement ceremony a year, held in the Spring. History students graduating in Spring, Summer or either the proceeding or following Fall are welcome. This year's ceremony will be held Tuesday, May 17th, 2016 at 9:30am, in Zellerbach Auditorium. The keynote speaker will be our very own Martin Jay, Professor of History and The Sidney Hellman Ehrman Chair of European History. Students' names and thesis topics will be read as they cross the stage, and a reception will follow.

Musical Interlude: 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Ceremony Start: 9:30 a.m.

Senior Convocation (University-wide commencement ceremony):
In addition to the departmental ceremony the campus also offers a campuswide Commencement ceremony. It will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016, 10:00 am, in Memorial Stadium. Graduating seniors from all academic disciplines can participate. Please note that names will not be read at this ceremony.
