Latin America

My work lies at the intersection of intellectual and religious history, focusing on Argentina, Chile, and Brazil during the mid 20th century. I focus on far-right lay and priestly groups, and how they reacted to changes in the Church following the Second Vatican Council. My dissertation examined the intellecutal, political, and theological arguments and movements in the Southern Cone and the Iberian penninsula in the 1960s and 70s as they pertained to Catholic arguments over feminism, Protestantism, lay and priestly "subversion," and the role of militant lay actors in what would come to be called the "Dirty Wars."
