The UC Berkeley History Social-Science Project seeks to bridge the academy and K-12 communities to help elementary and secondary teachers provide equitable educational opportunities to all students, through a model of learning, practicing, and doing.
UCBHSSP is committed to increasing the academic achievement of primary and secondary aged students by strengthening history content knowledge, academic literacy, and discipline-specific thinking skills. UCBHSSP's work with teachers is informed by current scholarship, engages communities of teachers, and fosters collaboration between K-12 teachers and the university.
