History Department Ranked #1 by U.S. News & World Report

For the second year in a row, the History Department has been named the top History Program in the nation in U.S. News & World Report's graduate program rankings!

Within history field specialties, the UC Berkeley History Department also ranked:

#1 in Cultural History

#2 in Asian History (tie)

#2 in European History (tie)

#3 in Latin American History

#5 in Modern U.S. History

#5 in Women's History

Across campus, English, sociology and psychology were also ranked as top graduate programs across the country, with many other UC Berkeley programs ranking high.
