I work on social life in Britain's long 18th century. I'm curious about how people interacted with each other in rapidly growing cities: how did people find work, friends, marriage partners, and meaning in cities that were increasinlgy anonymous. So far I've researched coffeehouses and Christmas, and am now working on project about change ringing.
I do a daily podcast about studying for my comprehensive exams. Sometimes it's good.
