Lecturer
Latin America
I am a historian of modern Latin America. My areas of particular interest and specialization include the Cold War, US foreign policy in Latin America, migration, and twentieth century Mexico and Guatemala. In 2021, I completed PhD at UC Berkeley with a dissertation that examines the intersection between immigration policy and international relations, through an analysis of the history of Guatemalan exiles and refugees in the Cold War period. After spending a year as a postdoc at the University of Nevada, Reno, I returned to Berkeley in the 2022-23 school year to work as a lecturer.
