The Sixteenth Century Society announces the award of its 2023 Anne Lake Prescott Prize to Sather Professor Emeritus Thomas Brady. The award, inaugurated this year, honors a distinguished member of the historical profession for their dedication to mentorship of students and junior scholars.
Professor Brady is a specialist in the history of the Protestant Reformation and a beloved member of the UC Berkeley History Department.
Professor David Whitford, Professor of Reformation Studies, Baylor University, writes, "One of my greatest joys as president of the Sixteenth Century Society is being able to recognize people for their scholarship and dedication to the profession. It is, therefore, my great pleasure to congratulate Tom on winning the inaugural Anne Lake Prescott Prize."
