Research Interests

My research deals with European history in the nineteenth and twentieth century, the history of climate science, and environmental history. I focus in particular on European colonialism, fascist Italy, and the relationship between politics, science and environmental management. I have also carried out research on the history of nationalism, eugenics, scientific racism in anthropology and the life sciences. My current book project is the first environmental history of Italian colonialism from the perspective of Science and Technology Studies.
