Bonnie Morris graduated from American University in Washington, D.C.,  and then earned her Ph.D. in women's history from Binghamton University in upstate New York. She introduced the AC 100 course Sports and Gender in U.S. History at Cal starting in 2018, after teaching it for almost  25 years at other campuses ranging from Georgetown to Semester at Sea. The author of 19 books, including The Feminist Revolution, Women's History for Beginners, and the recent women's sports volume What's the Score?, she is also a consultant to the Smithsonian and Disney Animation, a scholarly adviser to the National Women's History Museum, and the archivist/historian for Olivia Records, helping with the research for a new documentary film on the women's music legacy.
