November 25, 2019

Congratulations to Associate Professor Stephanie Jones-Rogers, whose book They Were Her Property: White Women as Slave Owners in the American South was named as one of the “Ten Best History Books of 2019” by Smithsonian Magazine. We’re excited to see Jones-Rogers’ gorundbreaking book continue to garner recognition and exposure.

Also featured on this list is Daniel Immerwahr, Associate Professor of History at Northwestern (UC Berkeley Ph.D. 2011), for his title How to Hide an Empire: A History of the Greater United States. Immerwahr is part of this year’s History Colloquia series, and will speak on campus April 14th, 2020.
